Paris
Nisheet arrived in Paris early this morning! I’m so excited to share this part of my journey with him as Paris is one of my all time favorite cities. Here is our day in pictures.
We had a lot to catch up on since we had been apart for 2 weeks and 3 countries, so we started the day out chatting and people watching over a cappuccino at a Parisian cafe. Cafes are a way of life in Paris. Grab an open seat, sit back, and enjoy the people watching. You can order a cappuccino like us, but the true Parisians order a “cafe” which is basically espresso. And they are ordered any time of the day including nighttime. Something to note though, French coffee really isn’t that great, so if you are a coffee snob, do your research before hand.
And, what’s more romantic than walking hand in hand along the River Seine with the fall colors popping out here and there? Nothing. So that is exactly what we did. In the summer there would be crowds gathered around street vendors, but in the fall, the peace and serenity takes over.
After strolling around for a while we stopped for a quick bite to eat at Chez H’Anna in le Marais for lunch. This is a fun and trendy yet beautiful and historic area of the city tucked slightly away from the uber touristy attractions. There is a plethora of restaurants, cute shops, and pastry stores to check out. And, believe it or not, there are actually really good tea shops here too. No need to go to London!
Further down on our walk we came across the Louvre. Although it is a world-renowned art museum, we had no intentions of going inside because we planned on going the Musee de l’Orangerie for our art experience (check out that post here). That didn’t stop us from playing at the Louvre though. It is an iconic landmark afterall.
Art is very important in Paris, and you will often see modern art pieces popping up in random spots this city rich with history. Look at this colorful walk-in art piece we stumbled across just minutes away from on of the greatest art museums in the world. It feels a little out of place surrounded by such important and historical buildings, yet it is so Parisian.
One of our favorite things to do in a city we are visiting is to check out the snacks in a local grocery store. Here is our loot we took back to the hotel for an early night. (Nisheet has been up for 36 hours!) Some interesting finds include baby kiwi, cranberry pepper cheese, and paprika lays. If haven’t tried the Bonne Maman Tartelettes before. Don’t. They are super yummy and addictive and you will never be able to stay away from them.

Your beautiful pictures sure bring back wonderful memories. I’m going to have to pull out the album of our first trip there.
