I spent the past week in Seattle for ZEMAX training. The training was super boring, but it was still a really good experience. It was kind of funny though because I flew 1/2 way across the country, and the guy that sat next to me in class lived within 5 miles of me!
I stayed in Bothell, and my class was in Kirkland. I had a beautiful drive every day. The picture below is looking west across Lake Washington.
One really neat thing I did in downtown was taking the Underground Tour in Seattle. I highly recommend it. We actually got to go underground and see the “1st” floor of the buildings and walk where the original sidewalks used to be. If you are ever walking around Seattle and see purple glass squares on the sidewalk, it is probably a skylight to the underground. This picture shows one of the skylights from underneath.
I also got the chance to go to the Pike Place Market. Pretty cool!
I had a great view of Mt. Rainier on my flight home. It is much bigger than I thought it would be. It just dwarfs everything else around.
